Composer, singer, and educator Fattohxon Mamadaliev was born in 1923 in the Baliqchi district of the Andijan region. While young Fattohxon was studying in middle school, musician Zokirjon Turaev took him out of class, put a dutar in his hands, and awakened his love for art. He learned to play the violin and kamancha from the famous violinist Muminjon Karimov.

Namangan master Ruzimatkhan Isaboev presented him with a tanbur he had made himself and advised him, saying: «A singer must sing with a tanbur.» The teachings given by his first masters were of important significance for him in finding his place in life and art in the future.

In 1963, he graduated from the history faculty of the Andijan State Institute. Even during his student years, he began his labor career at the Y. Akhunbabaev Theatre in Andijan and at the institute where he was studying. Just as he was becoming known to the public by forming the 2nd Maqom ensemble in the republic, he was invited to work at the Tashkent State Conservatory.

Living and working in such a great city as Tashkent, called the «Gateway to the East», which is a huge political, economic, scientific, and cultural center, and being in creative dialogue with prominent figures of science, culture, and art became the main factor in F. Mamadaliev achieving great creative maturity, soaring to high peaks in art, and becoming known to the broad cultural public.

From 1985 to 1999, he worked actively as a mentor at the Tashkent State Conservatory, raising and nurturing talents such as Hurriyat Isroilova, Mashrab Ermatov, Erkin Ruzmatov, Maryam Sattorova, Nasiba Sattorova, Maysara Imomova, Azamat Otajonov, Bobir Yuldashev, and others. Creating scientific-methodological works, he wrote dozens of articles such as «The Tuning of Eastern and Uzbek Instruments» and «The Proportion of Aruz, Rhythm, and Music».

Working as a consultant in the Maqom ensemble under the Uzbekistan Television and Radio Company, he was the first in Uzbekistan to create the 7-part «Miskin» Maqom series, the 5-part «Munojat» series with his students at the Tashkent State Conservatory, and the 8-part «Ushshoq» and 4-part «Nasrulloi» series for the first time with the TV-Radio Maqom ensemble, recording them onto magnetic tapes.

Special programs were made on our republic's television based on these musical works.
There are very few art fans who have not been amazed and delighted by F. Mamadaliev's classical songs that bring peace to the soul. His charming songs recorded on magnetic tapes are reaching connoisseurs through Tashkent radio.

Owner of multifaceted creativity, F. Mamadaliev composed music for nearly seventy ghazals by poets such as Navoi, Muqimi, Nadira, Furqat, Ogahi, Ulfati, Vahid Abdulla, Vosit Sa'dulla, and Olimjon Xoldor. As a lucky creator, he was in the circle of Habibiy, Sobir Abdulla, Anisi, Ulfati, Vahid Abdulla, Vosit Sa'dulla, and other scholars and poets, learning the secrets of ghazals.

He studied under master artists like Yunus Rajabiy, Muhitdin Haji Najmitdinov, Qomiljon Jabbarov, G'anijon Toshmatov, Jurakhon Sultonov, and Qodirjon Akhunov. All of these were of significant importance in his reaching perfection as an individual, creator, and mentor.

F. Mamadaliev was also a well-traveled creator who saw the world. He went on creative tours to countries such as the USA, India, Italy, Bulgaria, and Malaysia.
The services of famous composer, singer, ghazal writer, and mentor F. Mamadaliev in the development of Uzbek Maqom and song art were duly rewarded.

He was awarded the title «People's Singer of Uzbekistan». On the occasion of the 7th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, he was awarded the «El-yurt hurmati» (Respect of the People and Homeland) order. F. Mamadaliev passed away in 1999 in the city of Tashkent.
